David Genicio & Pifa Montgomery
David Genicio & Pifa Montgomery work together on a textile line that continues to grow. They design and produce T-shirts, socks, tote bags, sweatshirts, and flags with various themes from Zamora's history and folklore (they have expanded to other regions), with the masquerades being among the most in-demand products from customers. David Genicio Moro (1984). He runs a store that sells all kinds of textile products on a central and commercial street in the city of Zamora. Santiago Textil is a business founded by his grandfather, where he succeeded his father. A few years ago, David decided to expand the business by offering his customers high-quality industrial products (manufactured in Castilla y León) with designs inspired by Zamora, both the city and the province. He launched a thematic line focused on Holy Week and, seeing its success and high demand, decided to improve the design by partnering in this sales line with designer Pifa Montgomery. Pifa Montgomery [Óscar Méndez San Frutos] (1984). He is an illustrator and graphic designer from Zamora, currently based in Arroyo de la Encomienda (Valladolid). Since 2022, he has been working as a freelance designer, creating illustration, graphic design, packaging, and editorial products for all kinds of companies. In 2021 and 2022, he published Máscaradas de infierno (Masks from Hell) I and II, a personal and fantastical take on the masquerades of the province of Zamora. He collaborates on projects that interest him, such as the one with Santiago Textil.
